Anne Bergeron & Co. Consulting helps nonprofit cultural and educational organizations to create financial stability by refining their internal operations, expanding their outreach to constituents and increasing their philanthropic support.

We specialize in resource development — a synthesis of fundraising, operational planning and organizational development — in the nonprofit fields of arts, education and historic preservation.

We utilize the vital connections among program, development and communications to achieve the highest levels of funding. We guide institutions to create and implement viable operational and fundraising plans, as well as conceive and execute campaigns for programmatic and capital initiatives. Our work consistently raises leadership gifts from individuals and institutions alike.
Anne Bergeron, Principal
Anne Bergeron has over 25 years of experience as a fundraiser, administrator and consultant. Before starting her own firm, Anne held senior management posts at diverse cultural and educational organizations, among them:

  • YMCA of the USA, where, as associate executive director of the National Writers Voice Project, she managed the national expansion of a local literary arts program;

  • Missouri Arts Council, where, as assistant director for administration, she oversaw the programmatic development of a $200 million statewide cultural trust fund and implemented a challenge grant program that leveraged $14 million in private investment in seven months;

  • Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, where, as director of institutional and capital development, she secured national landmark status for its historic building and a multi-million grant from the City of New York towards its exterior restoration (the first substantial City funding for the museum); and

  • Rhode Island School of Design, where, as interim vice president of advancement, she transitioned its development and alumni relations program following a prolonged capital campaign.

She has presented at conferences and has led fundraising workshops for clients, the Guggenheim Museum’s formal internship program, and the Bank Street Museum Education Leadership graduate program.

A native of Connecticut, Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Trinity College. She has an executive certificate in nonprofit management from Georgetown University, and has completed graduate coursework in nonprofit management at Washington University in St. Louis, as well as construction project management at New York University. She is a trustee of Naumburg Orchestral Concerts, and a member of the American Association of Museums, ArtTable, the Association of Fundraising Professionals and The Museum Group. She and her husband were recognized by the State of Missouri for restoring an architecturally significant mid-century home in St. Louis.
